Course description

The course is based on the story of an equipment rental company and builds up all the way from a very simple starter process to a complex real-life case.

The course starts by rehearsing the basics of BPMN 2.0. Next, you'll discover a start pattern commonly used in process modeling and revisit task types and exclusive data-based gateways.

The complexity builds up quickly when your next task is to add subprocesses and refine them with more details. Some jobs will have to be executed in parallel; you’ll have to handle unexpected events and escalations in other subprocesses. Finally, you’ll learn to bring everything together on the top-level diagram again.

The best part of this BPMN training? You can learn this all from the comfort of your modeling environment on our platform. The interactive content is switched up with tests to make sure you understand what you’ve been learning. But be warned, these tests aren’t easy; you have to score 80% to pass the test.

Of course, you’re not on your own. During the course, our very own process expert, prof. Dr. Manu De Backer will guide you through the theory and explain the new concepts and elements in great detail. In these theory lessons, you will learn about
